Gerda's Garden is the best Egyptian restaurant in Karnak. The food is good quality, always cooked fresh and excellent value for money. The hosts are charming and provide a relaxing welcome the minute you walk in the door. I cannot recommend it enough!

I just got this website from Tony (english version).Can you believe that it is just over a year ago since the Irish clan were in Luxor visiting Tony.We all had the best time in your restaurant,you both made us feel very welcome.
I hope you are both in good health, I still miss the time we had together,the food and hospitality was fantastic.Is Tony still part of the furniture.
Well Gerda and Wale I hope to be back sometime in the future when I will see you both again.

Gerdas Garden Restaurant is situated right next door to the Karnak Hotel and almost opposite the Hilton Hotel entrance drive on Hilton Street, New Karnak, Luxor.
The restaurant is quite small but has a reputation for very good, and reasonably priced food. There is a selection of German and Egyptian dishes on the menu, along with other international dishes. If what you would like is not listed every effort will be made to provide your choice of meal providing the ingredients are available, bearing in mind this is Egypt.
That is the formal recommendation. However Gerdas Garden is much more than just a place to eat or have a drink. Gerda, and Wael her Egyptian husband have made this little restaurant a real home from home for their guests. The welcome is genuine and friendly. There is a feeling of being part of the family as soon as you enter. Everyone is welcome whether they are having a meal, or would just like to sit in the cosy area round the bar for a drink and a chat. Any assistance or advice you need about Luxor is gladly given. Nothing is to much trouble for Gerda and Wael when it comes to looking after their guests. One thing to note is that while most restaurants in Luxor will tolerate children, at Gerdas Garden they are particularly welcome. The owners and staff love to have children around, and look after them with some small table games.
If a one line sentence can describe this restaurant I think it would be.
You go into Gerdas Garden as a guest and customer, but you leave as a friend.

One of the reasons why I always look forward to going back to Luxor again, and again is that it has one of my favorite restaurants in Egypt. That is Gerda's gardens. Every time I'm in Luxor, I have to drop by this cozy place to try at least one of the specialties offered there. The food is always fresh and tasty. The atmosphere is super nice and friendly, and the staff is simply the best. At gerda's, I never feel like a customer who's just having dinner in a nice restaurant. The feeling I get there is always more like I'm a guest who's invited to some friends' place for cold beers, long chats and fun times. This great time is always followed by an exquisite home-made meal that I know I would'nt get anywhere else in Egypt.
So, thank you Gerda and Wael (shokran keteer to both of you) for giving me and my family a great time in Luxor, for your friendliness, hospitality and super yummy meals : )

Nochmals vielen Dank für die Gastfreundschaft die ihr uns entgegen gebracht habt. Wenn man sagt, man kennt Luxor, dann stimmt das nur, wenn auch ein Besuch bei Gerda`s Garden dabei war! Ich kann nur jedem empfehlen, die Zeit in Luxor zu nutzen um einen Abstecher in dieses tolle Restaurant zu machen.

Wer sich in der Ferne ein Stück Heimat herbeisehnt , gepaart mit ägyptischer gastlichkeit und deutscher Freundschaft , ist in Gerdas Garden genau richtig !!! Von Käsespätzle über Gulasch , von Kofta bis hin zum alexandrinischen Hühnchen ( alles ausserordentlich lecker ) gibt es alles was das Herz begehrt . Besonders zu erwähnen ist das familiere Ambiente ; Gerda und Wael sowie das ganze Team stehen jedem mit Rat und Tat gerne zur Seite ( Taxibeschaffung , Ausflüge organisieren ...... ) Sind halt ganz liebe Menschen !!! Wir kommen gerne regelmässig zwei mal im Jahr vorbei und geniessen das beisammensein . Ist einfach nur zu Empfehlen !!!!

Hallo ihr beiden.
Wir hoffen es geht euch auch weiterhin gut! Wobei das bei so gutem Essen schon fast selbstverständlich ist. Wir wollten uns jetzt auch hier nochmal für alles bedanken. Als wir den ersten Tag Hotelverpflegung hinter uns hatten wart ihr unsere Rettung. Ihr seit wirklich außergewöhnlich nette und freundliche Menschen. Auch den Auspflug den ihr geplant hattet war wunderschön und wir hätten ihn alleine nicht so organisieren können!
Wael hat uns einen Fisch zubereitet der einfach, nunja um es besser beschreiben zu können ich mag normalerweise keinen Fisch und habe bei euch nichts anderes gegessen. Vielen Dank für alles.
Wenn wir das nächste mal in der nähe sind werden wir auf jedenfall wieder vorbeikommen.

Hallo Ihr Lieben,
Joe hat sich vor ein paar Tagen im Gästebuch verewigt, nun wil ich mich zu Wort melden.
Seit letzter Woche sind wir im Arabischkurs, mal gucken, ob wir irgendwann mal was verstehen.
Ich freue mich, euch im Mai wiederzusehen, wir kommen am 07.05. gehen für 1 Woche aufs Schiff und dann ne Woche in Luxor, wie immer.
